What is swimmer’s ear? Water can get into the ear canal after swimming and bathing. This water becomes invaded by bacteria (gross!) and causes pain.  When this happens, you must go to the doctor and get antibiotic ear drops. However, you can usually prevent swimmer’s ear. I am prone to swimmer’s ear (wonder why?) and have learned to always keep white vinegar and rubbing alcohol in my medicine cabinet.  You can also buy drops to prevent swimmer’s ear at most retail stores. Do not treat swimmer’s ear.  PREVENT IT.  Mix equal parts of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol in the cap. Place about 5 drops into each ear.
